We finally made it to the Grand Canyon about midday Monday the 14th. I thought we would be there Sunday but the "house batteries" in the motorhome were not holding a charge so I stopped in Silver City, NM at an auto parts store. Luckily, they carried the right batteries. Bought four new 6v batteries and switched them out in the parking lot which took about 2.5 hrs. That delay really cost us time. Ended up staying the night in Show Low AZ. The Grand Canyon! There are not enough adjectives to describe the beauty of this place. Awoke this morning to see about 10 elk walking past our motorhome. Will post photos later, I must have taken a thousand so far!

So how long are you guys there for? We are getting there on Thursday around 6pm, we have reservations at the El Tora Lodge for dinner at 8:15.
