We're off on our road trip to the Grand Canyon and beyond. We managed to get all our stuff loaded in the motorhome and departed Thursday morning heading west. Did not manage to put very many miles behind us the first day, only made it to New Braunfels. Found a spot in Gruene right on the Guadalupe River.

Sheryl cooked us a yummy breakfast and we headed out Hwy 46 so we could by-pass San Antonio. Caught I-10 again in Boerne. We made Fort Stockton around 4:30PM, stopped at Walmart for a few snacks, and then found a RV park for the night. All I can say is I-10 is ONE LONG stretch of concrete and asphalt. Seems like you NEVER get there. I have heard Astronauts comment that they can see the Great Wall of China from space; if that is true, then way can't they see Interstate 10 from space!

Gruene is probably my all-time favorite place within hours of Houston. I'm so jealous! : )
